"That strange, awful look seemed to sorter fade out of his eyes.

If you're an Android user and Fortnite lover, you'll have been waiting for the game to come to Google Play for a little while now. Well, according to XDA Epic Games might be swerving past the popular app store altogether.

Nexon's hotly anticipated KartRider Rush+ has raced past 3 million pre-registrations in just one week. That's obviously quite a lot, especially for a series that hasn't exactly been a big name in the West for some time.

If this is the first you've heard of it, Rush+ is a content-packed arcade kart racer that will launch with 45+ tracks, 20 customisable karts, five distinct modes, and real-time multiplayer.

Nexon has worked to create a karting experience that can be enjoyed by newcomers and genre veterans alike, delivering an extensive story mode, time trials, speed races, ranked races, and more. You'll even have your own hub area to customise to your liking.

This week, James finds himself in the rare position of defending a Gameloft game, that game being arcade racer Asphalt 9: Legends.

Meanwhile, Ric has been serving coffee to cats in Furista Cat Cafe, and smashing tetrominoes out of existence in Arkanoid-inspired block-basher Holedown.

The pair also cover Nintendo's $100 million lawsuit against ROM sites, and the latest Nintendo LABO construction set.

Plus, James sits down to chat to the developer of Holedown about how to identify a 'core mechanic', and how to appease the artist within.
Download episode 449:
(right click to save-as, left click to play)
&#;

The titular hero of indie 3DS game Shovel Knight is getting his own amiibo, and I'm going to buy one and kiss it.

Not only can you put the amiibo on your shelf and look at it lovingly and pretend to make it fight other amiibo and your pets, but it will unlock exclusive goodies in the game (provided you've got a New 3DS, with its built-in NFC reader).

Slap that amiibo on your screen and you'll get new relics, abilities, and powers, and can customise the armour of Shovel Knight. And there will be exclusive challenge stages.

If you've got a Wii U, the amiibo will also unlock a two player co-op mode. No such luck on 3DS, I'm afraid.

You can pre-order the amiibo right now on GAME but they overcharge for them and they never sent me my Little Mac amiibo and I'm still angry so I wouldn't bother to be honest.
&#;
So far we've seen a lot of battle royale action and while it's always exciting, it doesn't hold a candle to checking out what brilliant games came out on the radar this week.

Whether you're shopping for iOS or Android, action, RPG, puzzler, or something totally different, take a look below to see if there's something that catches your eye.
ArmelloPlatform: iOSPrice: F2P
Long-awaited and highly anticipated, the striking Armello is finally available for you to play on your iPhone/iPad.
