4、<p>[This article was originally published on our sister site PocketGamer.biz]</p><p>Any indie developer currently working on a new mobile, smartwatch, VR, or handheld game is hereby encouraged to attend our next Very Big Indie Pitch, which is taking place during Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki on 7th September.</p><p>The clue's in the name, really.</p><p>The Very Big Indie Pitch is the bigger brother of our regular BIP event, which sees indie developers engage in a speed-dating-styled pitching competition for fame (oh, and a promotional prize worth $thousands).</p><p>It's a fun but hotly contested event that has proved a genuine game-changer for teams in the past. You can get a pretty decent lowdown here.</p><p>Interested but not sure if you qualify or got some questions? • <p>Announcing a new virtual reality headset is almost becoming a technological cliche, but the truth is we love to hear about all these hot new head-mounted gadgets.</p><p>The more hardware spills out onto the shelves, the more VR games we're going to get. Carl Zeiss is a tech company, true, but its focus has generally been on camera lenses and high-level industrial and medical optics manufacturing, which it's been doing since 1846.</p><p>But it's easy to see how it's equipped to build a cheap and cheerful smartphone head-mount, and you can expect the essential eye pieces to be of the highest quality. Early reports suggest a 100 degree field-of-view, which is deliciously wide.</p><p>The device has a unique slide out drawer that accepts your smartphone, and then slots back into the visor. A transparent cover allows for camera pass-through, and additional drawers are coming soon so the VR One will accept a wider range of smartphones.</p><p>A couple of open-source SDKs have been made available to software developers, though there's no reason to think the VR One won't be compatible with any and all smartphone-based VR games, so long as they use side-by-side video.</p><p>Pre-orders are open now, with the first VR One units expected to ship in December.</p>

"You'll see a hundred," said Marshall Elliott.Updated 9th March, 11:59 AM: The day's come about when AcroSplat can be bought and downloaded at your fingertips.<p>Grab the game now on the App Store, or on Google Play, for £2.99/$2.99.</p><p>You may recognise AcroSplat from previous Big Indie Pitches. Well, today we're excited to see that AppStreet Games is looking for beta testers.</p><p>AcroSplat is a colourful puzzler with a set of adorable characters to play with. The simple, drag-and-release, one-touch controls give the game room to breathe as you work your way around mind-racking puzzles, flipping your tiny blobs from platform to platform.</p><p>Of course, it isn't an easy feat as you've evidently joined the circus of nightmares. Buzzsaws, spikes, horrendous walls, and plenty of other obstacles stand in your way as you head for the safety of the paint can. Some barriers even require you to mix the right colours in order to pass through them, but it's all great fun.</p><p>If you'd like to start making your way through AcroSplat's 100+ levels, check out the Google form here. Even if you're not interested in the beta, the game will be release on iOS and Android on the 9th March.</p>
