Software introduction

Actor, musician and all-around funnyman Reggie Watts is going to be taking his comedy act to virtual reality later this month. Fans of Watts or doing fun things in VR can attend the show using AltspaceVR's social VR Platform or watch it via a YouTube livestream.

Watts is performing on Thursday, May 26th at 8-9 PDT from AltspaceVR's Los Angeles comedy studio, although those of us in England might have to set an alarm as the show's kicking off at 4am BST.

Watts is an old hand with virtual reality, having recorded a short-form 360 comedy entitled Waves and it's a trend that looks set to continue.

Fans can dial in to the performance in AltspaceVR through a bunch of headsets: The Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive but also in two puny dimensions via a traditional monitor.

Live guests will need an AltspaceVR account and then to respond to this Eventbrite link because places are limited.

AltspaceVR is a cornucopia of fun virtual reality stuff since it launched to the public around a year ago, running pub quizzes, official Dungeons and Dragons evenings, improv comedy and a bunch of other fun stuff, too.

This morning, Apple pulled a number of games that featured the Confederate (or rebel) flag from its App Store.

From what we know, most of if not all of the games affected by this decision from Apple were historical strategy games set during the American Civil War.

The news first got around due to a tweet from development studio Game-Labs regarding its game Ultimate General: Gettysburg. It reads: "Apple has pulled the tablet version of the game from Appstore because of the Confederate Flag."

Finding this out, we then looked around for signs of other games that could be in the firing line of this decision. As it were, a number of HexWar Games's strategy games were missing - those that are set during the American Civil War.

We were able to catch up with HexWar Games's Andrew Mulholland who gave us the full details on what happened here.

This morning, HexWar received a load of notifications saying that some of its games had been suddenly pulled from sale.

There was a note from Apple which read: "We are writing to notify you that your app has been removed from the App Store because it includes images of the confederate flag used in offensive and mean-spirited ways."

The total number of games affected by this is four for HexWar Games. Plus, all of the different versions of them, such as the Lite and Gold versions.

"It seems disappointing that they would remove the games as they weren't being used in an offensive way, being that they were historical war games and hence it was the flag used at the time," Mulholland told us.

At the moment, HexWar Games is working to get the games that have been pulled by Apple back on the App Store. The hope is that changing the flag will be enough.

"We're going to use the Confederate flag from 1861 and 1862. The one that's considered offensive wasn't introduced until late 1862," Mulholland explained.

The flag that HexWar Games will replace the offending flag with is this one:

"Hopefully they'll accept the changes, but it will have to go back through the review process again - so who knows."

If you're unaware, the reason for Apple's sudden distaste for the Confederate flag is due to a renewed debate over its symbolism in America.

So far, Amazon, Etsy , Walmart, eBay, and Sears are ceasing the selling of the Confederate flag. There have been appeals to other companies to make similar actions.

Apple has presumably seen this and decided to remove any imagery of the flag from its App Store where possible. Hence these games have been targeted.

"We're in no way sympathetic to the use of the flag in an offensive way, we used it purely because historically that was the flag that was used at the time," Mulholland said.

For now these strategy games remain unavailable on the App Store. They may reappear soon but will not contain the Confederate flag.
&#;

And nice affections wavering stood in doubtby William Shakespeare

And often reading what contents it bears;NOA's Burger ShopAn idea whisked through Anne's brain with a suddenness that made her jump. But she did not utter it, for they had reached the Moore house. As they entered the yard Leslie came out on the veranda from the side door, peering through the gloom for some sign of her expected guest. She stood just where the warm yellow light flooded her from the open door. She wore a plain dress of cheap, cream-tinted cotton voile, with the usual girdle of crimson. Leslie was never without her touch of crimson. She had told Anne that she never felt satisfied without a gleam of red somewhere about her, if it were only a flower. To Anne, it always seemed to symbolise Leslie's glowing, pent-up personality, denied all expression save in that flaming glint. Leslie's dress was cut a little away at the neck and had short sleeves. Her arms gleamed like ivory-tinted marble. Every exquisite curve of her form was outlined in soft darkness against the light. Her hair shone in it like flame. Beyond her was a purple sky, flowering with stars over the harbor.

"Oh, I s'pose Dr. Blythe has to go to the Methodist church once in a while or he wouldn't get the Methodist practice."
King of Worlds is a strategy game from publisher and developer 7Senses that has soft-launched today for iOS and Android in select regions. Those places include the United States, Brazil, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

King of Worlds is a strategy game then, but one that's intended to be played at a much faster pace than you might otherwise be familiar with. The idea is that you can build your kingdom at ten times the speed alongside strengthening your power to allow you to conquer other regions easier.

There will be a host of historical figures you can summon to fight alongside you on the battlefield too. Aside from these powerful characters, there will of course be regular troops who you can train to be better fighters in addition to getting them to help build your kingdom.

There will be three different types of troops available which are the standard infantry, cavalry and archers fare. They'll each have various advantages and disadvantages over one another so it's important to choose a formation with a good mixture to deal with your opponents.

You won't have to try and conquer the in-game world alone, however, as you'll be able to form Alliances and battle alongside other players. Allies can share resources, buffs and provide military support to each other too so it seems like it's worth your time to join one.

Oasis Games recently released One Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0, their follow-up to the popular hero collecting RPG from last year. Today they've unveiled a code that will give new players a head start in the game whilst veterans will be able to bolster their roster even further.

The code is zero2hero and it will net players 10 free recruit tokens which is good for a multi summon. That means you can grab yourself a new hero to add to your roster for free. While you won't be able to get the Caped Baldy – because there has to be some challenge in the game – the rest of the One Punch Man’s colourful cast are pretty much up for grabs.

Whether that's the hard-working Mumen Rider or the brash but extremely powerful Terrible Tornado, most of the Heroes from the Association can be found in-game. If you'd rather make your team out of OPM's more villainous characters instead, however, you'll also find the likes of Carnage Kabuto and Geryuganshoop available. The roster is set to grow larger still when Season 2 content arrives in the game, bringing more Heroes.
Interview: Oasis Games discusses One-Punch Man: Road to Heroes 2.0 and the challenges of bringing a popular series to life for mobile
To use the code to obtain your free summon is very simple. Tap the picture of your avatar in the top left-hand side and then under functions, you'll find the Redeem Code button on the bottom right. From there, simply type in zero2hero, tap confirm and enjoy your free rewards.

There are plenty of other rewards up for grabs in One Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0 if you're willing to put the time in. There are a host of daily, weekly and milestone rewards to unlock so if you're dedicated the same way Saitama is to his training, you'll earn yourself plenty of additional items to get new Heroes and increase their strength.

If you're a fan of the anime series or simply looking for a new hero collecting game to dive into, One Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0 is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
News: Bleach: Immortal Soul's latest update adds new characters, story missions, and the cross-server Kenpachi Contest
Pearl Abyss' Black Desert Mobile is off to a terrific start after launching for iOS and Android last week. The hugely ambitious MMO already has a ton of great content to get stuck into, but it's clear that the western release is currently missing some pretty key features that are available right now in the eastern version. We spoke with Pearl Abyss, who sent us details on their planned feature updates for the expansive MMO.
So what's currently missing?
Perhaps the biggest omission at launch is the late-game 'Awakening' system. Once you reach level 65 with a character, they're supposed to unlock a host of fresh skills and a new weapon type. From what I can tell, attempting to reach level 65 is a sizable undertaking, one which many players won't complete until next year at the earliest.

Several character classes are also currently unavailable in the western release. That said, we now know that Pearl Abyss plans to release them gradually over the next year.
What is the best character class for Black Desert Mobile and what is a Family Name?Looking to the future
The roadmap below is subject to change, but it gives us a rough idea of when to expect key features like the Awakening and Succession systems. It's also great to see that we might be getting Siege Wars (new PVP mode) and Merchantry in the first half of the year.
Blood Kin explained
Blood Kin is another upcoming feature currently being teased by Pearl Abyss. What it basically allows you to do is summon another adventurer to you regardless of how far away they are. This seems like it'd be handy if you're in desperate need of help during a particularly tough quest.

Interestingly, it may launch with a feature that allows you to send a phone notification to your offline friend to let them know you need some backup. When together, Blood Kin will share a special buff and have the option to take on exclusive quests to earn some neat rewards.
The Fame of an Adventurer explained
The Fame of an Adventurer is a new reward system which allows you to give admiration to your favourite adventurers. The more fame points they get from other players' admiration, the better the rewards they'll earn. It's a nice way to give something back to those who have helped you out the most.

Again, remember that changes to the names and content of Blood Kin and The Fame of an Adventurer may occur before they go live.

You can download Black Desert Mobile right now from both the App Store and Google Play. And you can see all the latest BDM info over on Pearl Abyss' official site.
Vote for YOUR Game of the Year in the Pocket Gamer People's Choice Award 2020

You may have seen the name thrown about a bit but Rodeo Stampede has had a very exciting, and pretty damn big, update with 1.1.0.

As very addictive games go, Rodeo Stampede has had a good run but after catching 'em all – sorry to all of those who're sick of Pokemon jokes – what's left to do in the game apart from beat your high score? Well, now after a huge update we're given a bit more to chew on.

With a new mountain environment, 42 new animals to tame, an expanded Sky Zoo, and new music to listen to, there's still plenty of stuff to do in this endless runner.

If you haven't got the game already, download it now on iTunes or on Google Play for free.

    &#;
I've already mentioned Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King when letting you know Rex Rocket is heading to iPad. But it deserves its own spotlight, I think.

Right now, developer Castle Pixel has Blossom Tales on Kickstarter where it's looking for $45,000 in funding to bring it to life.

It's already got all the looks, though - that is, if you're a fan of pretty pixels and retro Zelda. Yep, this is a retro-style action-RPG as far as the visuals are concerned.

The story is as "classic" as it gets, too. An evil wizard called Crocus puts the king under a sleeping spell while he takes over control over the land.

You play as a heroic warrior called Lily that has just become one of the esteemed Knights of the Rose. Her first assignment is to take down Crocus, then.

But Blossom Tales isn't quite as simple as that as this story is framed as being told by a grandpa to his granddaughter.

As he narrates it, the granddaughter may interrupt with questions that change events as they happen. That makes the story a little more interesting, I guess.

Blossom Tales is going to initially be released for PC but will come to iOS soon after. Android, Vita, and 3DS versions are all possibilities but cannot be guaranteed at this point, apparently.

You can support the game on Kickstarter, getting yourself a copy of the game for PC for $10. Beta access, wallpapers, and art books are available at higher pledges.
&#;
