Several years in the making, Ubisoft and 20th Century Fox finally showed off the first trailer for Assassin's Creed the movie on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.

It's a busy year for game-to-film adaptations with Ratchet & Clank already in cinemas, Angry Birds: The Movie hitting tomorrow, Warcraft: The Beginning coming at the end of the month, and Asassin's Creed releasing on December 21st.

The music in the trailer is questionable and some of the dialogue leaves a bit to be desired, but the cinematography looks quite spectacular.

The story is centered around Callum Lynch who is subject to the Animus experiment. He goes back in time to 15th Century Spain to experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar so he can unlock secrets in the present.

With all the leaping around, thick, face-covering hoods, and athletic combat, it's definitely an Assassin's Creed movie, and it has enough budget and starpower behind it that it might just be alright.

While a big budget console release has been skipped this year, we recently had Assasin's Creed: Identity on mobile and quite liked it. So, there's definitely hope.

Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know what you think in the comment section below. Assassin's Creed stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons and releases December 21st 2016.
THE LION wearied Jupiter with his frequent complaints. "It is true, O Jupiter!" he said, "that I am gigantic in strength, handsome in shape, and powerful in attack. I have jaws well provided with teeth, and feet furnished with claws, and I lord it over all the beasts of the forest, and what a disgrace it is, that being such as I am, I should be frightened by the crowing of a cock." Jupiter replied, "Why do you blame me without a cause? I have given you all the attributes which I possess myself, and your courage never fails you except in this one instance." On hearing this the Lion groaned and lamented very much and, reproaching himself with his cowardice, wished that he might die. As these thoughts passed through his mind, he met an Elephant and came close to hold a conversation with him. After a time he observed that the Elephant shook his ears very often, and he inquired what was the matter and why his ears moved with such a tremor every now and then. Just at that moment a Gnat settled on the head of the Elephant, and he replied, "Do you see that little buzzing insect? If it enters my ear, my fate is sealed. I should die presently." The Lion said, "Well, since so huge a beast is afraid of a tiny gnat, I will no more complain, nor wish myself dead. I find myself, even as I am, better off than the Elephant."
It feels like deja-vu, but Gamevice isn't totally giving up the fight against Nintendo. Where it challenged the company last year for the full Switch design, this time around it's focussing more on the Joy-Cons themselves.

Gamevice's controls are built to fit around a variety of mobiles and tablets to enhance the mobile gaming experience. As gamesindustry.biz points out, unlike Gamevice's products the Joy-Cons are specifically tailored for the Switch and the Switch only.

So, it's a similar idea but not identical software which infringes the existing patent. In the recently released USITC statement there's been no investigation as of yet. "By instituting this investigation (337-TA-1111), the USITC has not yet made any decision on the merits of the case," it states. "The ALJ will make an initial determination as to whether there is a violation of section 337."

Should Gamevice win the battle, it's looking to stop Nintendo Switch from being imported and sold in the USA. Of course, with a huge legal team behind Ninty, this lawsuit could easily be dismissed like its last one. We'll keep an eye on this as it develops.

Let us know what you guys think of this in the comments below.

What me your minister for you obeys
Konami's president Hideki Hayakawa has said that the company "will pursue mobile games aggressively" in an interview with Japanese site Nikkei.

According to the translation by NeoGAF member HGH, Haykawa said the following:

"Our main platform will be mobiles. Following the pay-as-you-play model of games like Power Pro and Winning Eleven with additional content, our games must move from selling things like 'items' to selling things like 'features'.

Apparently, it's the success of these games that has motivated Konami to push its popular franchises on to mobile.

"Mobile is where the future of gaming lies," Hayakawa reportedly said.

He added that Konami is always thinking about how to push its franchises onto mobile in the west. While titles such as Metal Gear Solid and Winning Eleven continue to do well in the west, mobile is the company's new focus.

While this may seem like a surprising move from Konami to some, it's not. Only two days ago we reported on how Square Enix announced it was shifting its focus from console to mobile.

And, of course, earlier in the year we found out that Nintendo would be making games for mobile as well.

It seems that all of the big Japanese game companies are shifting their focus to mobile.

Why? The money. Take Japanese mobile hit Monster Strike for an example. That game's success is making developer Mixi $3.8 million a day.
